 | There are two main types of product for Glass Reinforced plastic (GRP) in marine applications:
Twin pack epoxy finishes for below the water line
Twin pack acrylic finishes for above the water line, where good colour and gloss retntion is important.
The GRP gelcoat gloss must be rubbed down with fine wet and dry abrasive to remove the gloss coat layer. The surface is then washed with the epoxy thinner to "liven" the surface. Apply one coat of AM06 Fibreglass Primer followed by two coats of AM07 twin pack Epoxy Finish or AM05 Acrylic Finish.
The boat should be left for 5-7 days before puting back into the water.
